about

as a Hapa Haole- Kānaka ʻŌiwi (Indigenous Hawaiian, Filipino, Dutch Mixed) and māhū (Hawaiian third gender) arTIst from Hana, Maui, Hawaii; the different parts of my idenTITy play a crucial role in the stories I want to tell as a filmmaker and performer.

With a background in singing and acTIng I graduated with Honors from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York with a performance degree, have enjoyed 10 + plus years of performing in the local Portland drag/burlesque community, was a soloist in the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus, a Title Holder of the Sweethearts of Portland (a non-profit organizaTIon that fundraises for local LGBTQ organizaTIons), and won the KGW “front of the line talent pass” for XFactor.

I bring a versaTIle creaTIve skill set that can be applied across many contexts in the media industry, I would like to demonstrate those skills as a mulTI-hyphenate arTIst who is ready to WORK.

Iʻve returned to school to channel my creaTIve passions into the film program at Portland State University and to build a career in filmmaking. My wide range of lived and professional experience has allowed me to adapt easily to the many creaTIve environments available in film producTIon. A natural storyteller, my work spans acTIng, direcTIng, wriTIng, producTIon design, and stop-moTIon animaTIon.

Iʻve been successful academically as well, appearing each term on the President’s and the Dean’s List. Recently named a Laika Scholar and Lois and Oscar Mock Endowed Scholar and Iʻve just completed my short film, Fairies in the Graveyard, a story about the queer experience of the 1980s and 90s, soon to be featured at the Viking Film FesTIval at PAM CUT’s: TOmorrow Theater.
